Admission Forms for M.A. (English) for the Academic Session 2013-2014 are available.

Eligibility Criteria :

• Three Years Honours Graduate of the B.A. Examination of University of Calcutta of the current / immediate previous year
• Three Years Honours Graduate of the B.A. Examination of University of Calcutta of the current / immediate previous year

Candidates passing Honours / Major Courses in Arts with First class in Under Graduate Degree levels from Indira Gandhi National Open University, Netaji Subhash Open University and the Distance Education Programmes of other Universities in West Bengal.
Reservation of seats: SC/ST, PH and others – as per University of Calcutta Rules.

Application Procedure :
Application should be made online from the college website The physical forms are to submitted to college along with processing fee of Rs. 650/- to be paid by way of Demand Draft / Pay Order drawn in favour of SHRI SHIKSHAYATAN COLLEGE, payable at Kolkata and enclosures as stated below. Read online application procedure carefully before applying.

Enclosures :
Attested photocopies of the following documents are to be enclosed (to be attested by Principal of last College attended or Gazetted Officer):

• Admit Cards and Mark sheets of the following Examinations:-
  • Class X
  • Class XII
  • B.A. Part I, II & III Honours Examination
• Registration Certificate of the University of Calcutta.
• SC/ST certificate issued as per the West Bengal Government SC/ST (identification) Act 1994 – (Applicable for SC/ST candidates).
• Migration Certificate – in case of applicants from other Universities. (To be submitted within 30 days from the date of admission)
• Passport size photograph to be affixed on the form and 1 stamp size photograph to be enclosed with the form.

Selection Procedure :

• Admission will be strictly on the basis of merit. A list of eligible candidates in order of merit will be published in the website for personal interview.
• Personal Interview.
• Final Merit List of candidates after Personal Interview will be published.
• Admission of candidates from merit list will be done on specified dates (See Admission Schedule).
• The applicable admission fee is to be paid by way of Demand Draft / Pay Order drawn in favour of SHRI SHIKSHAYATAN COLLEGE, payable at Kolkata (See Fee Structure).
